December 6th (pt 2) - Christmas is almost here

I don't remember what I wrote in the previous blog and am too lazy to reread at this moment so in case I haven't already said - December 6th was extremely busy. We went shopping in the morning/early afternoon, watched SEC game for a couple of hours, went to mom's work because there was going to be a Santa there and I wanted pics, and then we went to the parade downtown until about 7:45PM. Before we left for the parade, I tried to take some pics of me and Bucky to put in cards this year. I also tried to get a picture of him wearing his hat but he'd rather play peek-a-boo. He did pretty good since it was on timer and noone was there to get his attention. He would laugh right after the picture took because the flash was apparently very funny that night. I did get some good ones of him and my mom, though. Bucky actually did ok with Santa but wouldn't let me put him down so I ended up in the pic...sorry :) From there we rushed to Chick-Fil-A to get him some dinner and then off to the parade. We were all bundled up because it was in tht 50's but the wind was chilly for those of us with Florida blood. He really enjoyed the parade this year. I was very excited to see how he did with everything going on. He loved the music, was waving to people, and started blowing kisses to random folks. He started off sitting in the stroller, then on the stroller, then we would take turns holding him and then he wanted down and started dancing in the street. It was so funny. I have video of it but have no idea how to get the video to the computer so you'll just have to take my word for it and enjoy the pics.

December 6th (pt 1) - SEC Championship

You won't see this often when it's only me around but my son was in ... *gasp* ... blue and orange today in support of Buck's team, the Florida Gators. He was ok at first until he realized what was on the shirt. J/K - He actually got punished because he wouldn't leave my "village" alone. UF beat Alabama to become the SEC Champs for 2008. We only watched the first half but listened to the rest on the radio on the way to the parade and even at the parade. UF won in the 4th - 31-20. So...Go Gators!! At least they're a Florida team.

December 5th - A Busy Day

Our day started with Chase coming over so Hubbell could run some errands. Bucky and Chase had so much fun as always. I left Bucky's bedroom door open so they could freely run about and play with the toys. Chase did so much better with Rascal and vice versa. Once the newness wears off Rascal calms down. They both did very well until the TV and remote were rediscovered but that's to be expected with curious little minds and hands. That afternoon, my mom brought my Christmas decorations and 4 1/2 foot tree so Bucky and I could get our house ready for the holidays. He helped me hang some ornaments and then wanted to do it by himself. He actually learned how to pull the loop apart to make it wider so it will fit over the branch :) Later that night after he was in his pajamas and ready for bed, he wanted to watch his snowglobe one more time. I twisted the knob for the music and handed it to him. He sat it down very carefully on the floor and laid down beside it so he could watch the snow fall. Such a cute, peaceful ending to a slightly hectic day.

December 4th - Playdate at Jen's

We started the morning off with Bucky wanting to wear his new Elmo slippers even though they don't fit well throught the hole in his high chair...we made it work :) From there, we went to Jen's house for a playdate with all the moms and kids from the MOPS group. I had never seen the other kids so it was an interesting group. Bucky loved being able to run around inside and outside pretty much anywhere his little heart desired. He stayed outside quite a bit (what a shock) but enjoyed playing piano and in Jen's kids' rooms inside. Chase ended up pushing the stroller around and had quite a bit of fun chasing me around with it. They all did well until naptime started getting closer.

December 3rd - Chase the Animals Day

They all enjoyed it thoroughly - well Bucky did at least. The animals know by now that they have to hide if they don't want to be loved on at that moment. Bucky went under the table, from end to end on the couch, into the kitchen, and everywhere else he could fit to love on the "titties." (That's his word for "kitties" for those who didn't already know). He was finally able to almost give Rascal a hug before he, too, ran away...and this was all right before bed.

Reading and Snacking

On December 2nd, Bucky started off a little calmer but not for long. We went to Book Babies that morning and he enjoyed running around with Chase and sporadically paying attention to the songs and stories. He still loves playing with the instruments at the end of class. We left shortly after to run some places and then came home for his nap. After nap, he decided he needed a little quiet time and read his book of colors while sitting in the middle of the floor. He would point to stuff and I would name it - he would then try to repeat it. After that, however, he climbed onto his table to eat his afternoon snacks. I think I'm raising a monkey instead of a human.

Way behind on my Goal

Ok - So my goal for December was to bring everyone the 25 days until Christmas, Bucky style. However, since it's the 6th and I have yet to post anything, all entries will be abbreviated so you don't get bored. I have managed to take at least a few pictures of Bucky everyday and remember what was going on so hopefully everyone can catch up with me.

On the first day of December Bucky was in one of his crazy moods. After breakfast he decided to make some faces at me when he saw the camera. Then I proceeded to name parts of his body and he was actually willing to point them out for me. First he was cheesing it up for me. Then we found our hair, nose, teeth (he feels them with his tongue), and we tried to find our belly but quickly grew frustrated when our "shirt" wouldn't come up.
