Even though I am 22 days late in posting this, the pictures were actually taken on her 2nd month birthday :).

October 2012

Since I am behind, yet again, on blogging, here is a quick glimpse into our lives during October. And keep in mind, these are only the events that I took pictures at...October seemed to be a very busy month for us this year.

We went to a civil war reenactment...

Celebrated the 50th day of school...

Celebrated my 33rd birthday...

Enjoyed a corn maze as a family...

Carved pumpkins at our neighbor-friend's house...

Enjoyed fall festivals...

And finally went trick or treating with our neighbor friends.

No wonder we were all exhausted when November rolled around :)

Visiting Great Grandma

and Kira's first trip to the fair. After hubby returned from ALC in AZ, we made a short trip up to visit his grandmother. She had not seen Kira yet so we were all excited. Although it was only overnight, we were able to get in some quality time with her and hub's cousin.

The night we came back home, we also went to the Georgia National Fair. We didn't get there until around 430 or 500 but we closed the place down around 1100 or so. While Buck and I were in line for our first ride (our neighbor-friends were watching the youngins), we heard a girl freaking out because her buckle didn't latch. This mama got out of line and did not ride anything that night that left the ground. And I was perfectly fine with that. BTW - the ride was functioning again within the hour. Hmmmm... But anywho, the kiddo had a great time and baby girl slept and ate through it so all was right with the world.

One Month

On 1 October, my baby turned 1...well, 1 month old. I bought some stickers for just this occasion and was so glad I did. There is one for every month up to a year. Now, if I can just keep up with them every month...

This month she has learned to eat, sleep, pee, and poop. At her two week appointment, she weighed 7 lbs, 10 oz and was 19 inches. The doctor and nurse both asked me what formula she has been eating and were both equally shocked when I told them she wasn't eating formula and it was only breastmilk. This mama was doing something right :). She is a healthy, happy baby. She reminds me of her big brother at this age in that she only cries if something is wrong or she is needing something from us. And there are several warning squeaks prior to full blown crying most of the time. She is also learning to smile. It is so great to be experiencing this again and to be able to enjoy all these "firsts" for the second time.

"Mama, Can I...

...change Kira's diaper?" "Absolutely, son." So I took pictures. He was doing a wonderful job carefully wiping her area to make sure it was clean and getting the diaper ready, so I turned my back for less than a minute...and then..."MAMA - SHE PEED ON ME!!" You can imagine the laughter that came from this mama :D. He didn't think it was funny but he still took it in stride. I had to finish changing her because he wouldn't go near her after that but he still gave it a good try.

My Babies

Bucky wanted me to take some pictures of him and Kira...so I did :) These were taken on 16 Sept. in our front yard
