Sorry, no pictures...

We have been really busy since getting to CO and I haven't had the opportunity to upload pictures yet - plus I think my cord was packed because I haven't been able to find it. Here's a quick update on what's happened in the past month. Movers packed us on June 29th and moved us on June 30th. We cleared Ft. Hood on Wednesday morning about 2 hours before leaving on a plane to go to PC. In PC, we saw Hubbell and her new baby, Anna and her kids and all of my family that is local. We saw Buck's aunt and uncle in ValP but were unwilling and unable to travel any further via car due to the upcoming 14 hour drive to Colorado. We felt that would be asking a lot of Bucky. We went to the 4th of July fireworks at the marina and Bucky watched and played and watched and played. Our flights back to TX, however, were very stressful. We arrived at FWB about 2 hours before our flight...it had been cancelled due to "mechanical" problems. We thought we could get on a later flight but they were booked until the afternoon of the next day. This wouldn't have been a big issue except we had to pick up our animals by noon and Buck had his final eye appt at 300. I tried to reschedule via Delta hotline but they were absolutely useless. My dad, thank God, has a travel agent in his building who was able to book us on a different airline via rule 240 (I think) and Delta transferred our tickets. However, this meant that buck had to run through ticketing and security to avoid missing his flight and my mom had to drive me and Bucky to P'cola and quick to make my flight. We would, in theory, meet up in Dallas to finish our flights. My flight was a few minutes delayed, again thank God - Delta had not done what they were supposed to do so it took about 20 minutes to get tickets instead of 2. I had to change Bucky's diaper while waiting in line and then run to the bathroom during boarding so I wouldn't have to hold it the entire 2 hour flight. We were so rushed that the ticket agent took my checked bag through security for me so it wouldn't hold me up. At this point I didn't even care if the bag made it but I knew we had to get on that plane. We did, in fact, meet back up in Dallas, had some dinner and proceeded to our gate to learn that our 900PM flight was also cancelled. However, they rebooked us on the 750AM flight and sent us to a hotel (on them)
. The next morning at the butt-crack of dawn (before actually), we headed back to the airport, got there in plenty of time, enjoyed coffee and pastries, and waited for our flight. We started boarding and the ticket agent informed us that Delta had given us boarding passes, not tickets so we, therefore, needed to get that corrected before boarding. As a result, we missed the flight. We went out of security to the Delta counter where about 200 people were also waiting because they, too had cancelled flights. I went to the front where I was told to go and was informed that I had to wait in line with everyone else. Normally I try to be patient but knowing that we HAD to get on the next flight made me very anxious. I stayed in line while Buck talked to a manager who very politely took two seconds out of his day to print what we needed. We then ran through security to our gate, checked with the ticket agent who rebooked us on the next flight since we now had the proper papers, and had a seat and waited. We made the flight, got back to Killeen with about an hour to spare, picked up the cats, prepared the trailer, went to Buck's eye appt and headed to CO. We were going to stop along the way to visit places but there was absolutely NOTHING to see except grass, cows, horses and towns with a population of about 50. It was the longest, most boring road trip ever. We made it to CO a lot quicker than planned since we didn't have any touristy stuff to do on the way, met up with Buck's friend and his wife and are currently staying with them while trying to purchase a house. They are wonderful people and hopefully we will be able to repay them some day. We have been sightseeing, swimming, and getting to know the area since arriving. Bucky is doing great and we are surviving at the moment. Hopefully we'll have a house on Aug. 21st if things continue on their current path. I'll upload pics as soon as I am able and will do individual blogs with pics at that point.
